Our Fleet of Self-Drive Narrowboats for 2009

Our narrowboats may be traditional in shape, but inside they are equipped with everything you need - fully fitted kitchen with cooker and fridge, flushing toilets, shower and full length beds. All our boats have gas heating, a colour TV and hairdryer.

Guildford Regent - Semi-traditional stern Sleeps 4 to 8 Length: 18.29m (60ft) Berths: 1 permanent double & 1 convertible double, 2 single and 2 pipe cots for under 12's (no charge) . Hydestile - Cruiser stern Sleeps 5 to 7 Length: 16.76m (55ft) Berths: Hydestile has flexible accommodation for up to 7 adults: 1 to 3 double berths and 1 to 5 singles. Guildford Emperor - Semi-traditional stern (Click here to view) Sleeps 6 to 8 Length: 18.90m (62ft) Berths: 2 doubles & 4 singles, or 1 double & 6 singles. Extra large front cockpit. Table will fit outside for "al fresco" dining. 2 bathrooms each with toilet and shower/hipbath. Ideal narrowboat for two families. *Price for 6 - additional persons charged extra.*	Monday or Friday
Frensham - Cruiser stern Sleeps 8 to 10 Length: 20.12m (66ft) Berths: 1 double & 8 single or 2 double & 6 singles. Very large dinette converts into an equally generous sized bed. 2 toilets, bathroom with hip bath & shower over. Front cabin with 2 singles will convert to second double. *Price for 8 - additional persons charged extra.* N.B. Frensham is licenced for River Wey cruising only. Vistors booking a week or more can cruise the River Thames by purchasing a vistor licence on entry.	Monday or Friday

Guildford Monarch - Cruiser stern Sleeps 10 to 12 Length: 21.33m (70ft) Berths: 2 doubles & 8 singles. Especially designed for large groups or families. Galley in centre divides the craft into separate sections. 2 toilet/shower rooms with basin. *Price for 10 - additional person charged extra.* N.B. Guildford Monarch is licenced for River Wey cruising only. Vistors booking a week or more can cruise the River Thames by purchasing a vistor licence on entry.	Monday or Friday

General Information About Narrowboats

Our Narrowboats range in length from 14.02m (46 ft) up to 21.33m (70 ft), but all are based on the original width of traditional working narrowboats of 6 feet 10 inches. This width was determined by the original 7 feet width of many of the narrow locks on Britain's historic canal system.

Today's narrowboats are picturesque and traditionally styled, yet have all modern facilities on board to make your holiday a comfortable and enjoyable experience. This exploded view of a modern narrowboat demonstrates the type of layout and facilities found on your holiday craft.

The three main narrowboat stern types.

*Cruiser Stern* (below) Provides the benefit of a spacious rear deck area - enclosed by a guard rail		*Traditional stern* (below) Features a small, open rear deck providing space for the operation of the tiller by the helmsman.
	*Semi-traditional* (above) Combines the traditional feel and appearance with an enclosed stern area ideal for young children who can be supervised by the helmsman
